Legendary Spanish footballer Sergio Ramos is set to become an owner of his beloved club, Sevilla. This Tuesday, details concerning the financial aspects of this significant agreement have emerged online.
The renowned defender, Ramos, is currently a free agent, having not yet officially announced his retirement from playing after his departure from Mexican club Monterrey. However, it appears the 40-year-old has no immediate plans to step away from the football world.
Over the past week, there have been widespread reports about a potential takeover bid for Ramos’ childhood club, Sevilla, spearheaded by the player himself. As confirmed on Tuesday, an agreement has now been reached between all parties involved.
According to a report from journalist and market insider Ben Jacobs, “Five Eleven Capital, led by Sergio Ramos, have reached an agreement to buy Sevilla following a period of exclusivity. Sale price in excess of €400m.”
