The 25 finalists for the European Golden Boy - Absolute Best 2026 award were revealed today at Villa Fürstenberg, the Banca Ifis headquarters in Mestre. The list comprises the top 20 players from the October update of the European Golden Boy Top 100, a ranking of the best Under-21 players in European clubs compiled by main partner Transfermarkt. It also includes five “illimity Banca Ifis-Ifis Sport Wild Card” selections, awarded to players ranked between 21st and 100th.

From this point, an international jury of 50 journalists from across Europe will select the winner of the Absolute Best award. The recipient will be announced in November during a press conference alongside other honorees.

The 25 finalists represent 14 nations. Spain leads with four players, followed by Germany, Brazil, and France (three each), and then Greece and Argentina (two each). The Premier League features the most players with eight candidates, ahead of La Liga (six), the Bundesliga (five), and Serie A (three). Barcelona has the most representatives with three players. The youngest finalist is Lennart Karl (born February 22, 2008) of Bayern Munich.

The combined market value of the 25 finalists totals €1,303,000,000, an increase of 56.65% compared to January 2026 (€832,300,000).

The announcement of the finalists took place at Villa Fürstenberg, a venue set within a 22-hectare park featuring Banca Ifis's International Sculpture Park, a space blending history, art, and innovation. The event was attended by the creator of the European Golden Boy, Massimo Franchi, and hosted by Tuttosport director Guido Vaciago and Sky Sport journalist Federica Lodi.

Following welcoming remarks from Banca Ifis CEO Raffaele Zingone, a study by Banca Ifis titled "The Economy of Talent: How Under-21s Are Redefining Value in European Football," presented by Carmelo Carbotti, Head of Strategic Marketing & Research at Banca Ifis, was discussed. Football Club Advisor Federico Mari provided the final analysis. Lina Souloukou addressed "The Future of the Premier League: Growing Debt and Sporting Revival," while Nicola Boscaro (Chief Revenue Officer of Venezia FC) and Andrea Rogg (Operations Director of Venezia FC) presented "Bosco dello Sport and Ca' Venezia: Investments, Community, and the Future of Venezia FC."

The event was hosted by illimity Banca Ifis - Ifis Sport, the division through which the Group supports clubs, leagues, institutions, and industry operators with specialized expertise, research, and dedicated financial solutions. This model combines banking activities with industry knowledge to support the sustainable growth of the Sport System.
