Shakib Al Hasan Strongly Criticizes Tamim Iqbal Who Has Been Dropped from the ODI World Cup Squad

Strong arguments have been passed between Bangladesh senior pros Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, who dropped from the World Cup 2023 squad after making his comeback in the New Zealand series. Initially, the team management said that he was dropped due to injury, but the recent arguments have revealed everything.

Tamim Iqbal shared his reason for being dropped from the World Cup squad. Here is Tamim’s statement; “ someone called me from the top level of the board and said that if you play, you have to bat down the order. After hearing this, I am shocked as I have never batted down the order in my 17-year career”.

In response to Tamim’s statement, the Captain of the Bangladesh team said, “ Someone like Rohit Sharma built his from no.7 to opener, scored 10000-plus runs. If he sometimes bats No. 3 or 4, would it be a big problem? It is totally childish. It is my bat, I will play. A player should bat at any No. for the team”

This is not good for the team and players, especially before the ICC mega event. First of all, Tamim has to wait for at least till the end of the World Cup. On the other hand, the captain of the Bangladesh team should not replay in that manner. It may down their morale as a team. Bangladesh players need to concentrate on what they are expected to do.

Bangladesh will play its warmup match against Sri Lanka at Guwahati. They will try to find out the best combination for the World Cup round-robin. Bangladesh will play 9 matches so they need a perfect combination to get more advantage of the subcontinent conditions. Bust of luck for both teams.
