Shubman Gill is dethroned by Babar Azam to regain the top ODI spot. Former captain and top batsman of Pakistan, Babar Azam, has overtaken India’s Shubman Gill to reclaim the top spot in the ICC ODI batters rankings.

Babar has 824 points, 14 more than the Indian opener’s 810, according to the ICC rankings. It’s interesting to note that Indian batsmen Virat Kohli (775) and Rohit Sharma (754), respectively, also hold the third and fourth positions on the list.

After Gill ruled for more than a month and after the latter was rested for the current Proteas series, Babar Azam ascended to the top spot.
