Slow moving AC Milan risk losing Brown for 8m and Guerra

Football & Cricket

AC Milan appears to have lost out on signing Javi Guerra, who is reportedly heading to Manchester United, and now faces the possibility of a similar disappointment regarding Archie Brown, as the player is said to be close to joining Fenerbahce.

According to AC Milan transfer expert Daniele Longo, Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra was considered the club`s backup option after their primary target, Ardon Jashari from Club Brugge. However, delays in finalising the deal for Jashari seemingly led the Spanish international to prefer a move to Manchester United.

The “Diavolo” has often been criticised for its slow progress in transfer negotiations, a issue that appears to persist even after the recent appointment of sporting director Igli Tare.

Belgian transfer pundit Sacha Tavolieri warns that Milan`s cautious approach could once again prove costly. While genuine interest in Brown exists from Milan, they may be acting too late.

This concern arises because KAA Gent has reportedly already accepted an €8 million offer from Fenerbahce, and Brown himself is said to have agreed personal terms on a four-year contract with the Turkish club.

Tare and AC Milan reportedly only made contact regarding Brown within the last 24 hours. They are now in a rush to submit a concrete bid or risk seeing Brown complete his transfer to Turkey.

Adding to the competition, MilanNews.it indicates that AC Milan is not the only other club pursuing Brown; Wolverhampton Wanderers are also rumoured to be interested in signing him.
