Sourav Ganguly has Harsh Words for Pakistan After Defeat to India

Sourav Ganguly has harsh words for Pakistan after defeat to India. India thrashed Pakistan by seven wickets in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. By the end of the 30th over, the team was comfortably ahead at 155-2, with captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan firmly established at the crease.

One of India’s best batsmen and captains, Sourav Ganguly, thinks Pakistan will have a hard time rebounding from a loss like this in the World Cup.

In an interview with a cricket website, the former hitter claimed that this is not the Pakistani side he was used to playing for. He berated them for being the group that struggled to handle stressful circumstances.

“This is not the Pakistan team we used to play; during our time, Pakistan was a different team,” he declared. “During the batting, this team is unable to withstand the pressure.” Pakistan’s chances of winning this World Cup will be slim given their current batting lineup.

It is important to note that Pakistan, with four points, is ranked fourth in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 points standings. They defeated the Netherlands by 81 runs to begin their campaign.

In the next match, they defeated Sri Lanka, the 1996 champions. Australia, the five-time winners, will now play Babar Azam’s team on Friday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

But when Pakistan’s skipper was removed by pacer Mohammed Siraj, everything collapsed for the country. In 42.5 overs, the team was eliminated for a mere 191 runs.

India’s skipper Rohit Sharma spearheaded the chase with a fiery 86, and with seven wickets remaining, the two-time champions eventually cruised home in 30.3 overs to preserve their perfect record against Pakistan in the tournament’s history.
