South Africa Restricted to 270 to Fancy Their Chances In Crucial Match for Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023

Pakistan in a do-or-die match against South Africa couldn’t bat their 50 overs. They only managed to score 270 runs for the loss of 10 wickets. At one stage they were 141 for 5 after losing the skipper but Shadab and Saud fought well to back into the game and added 84 runs. This quick partnership raised hopes of the Pakistan team but as soon Shadab got out the lower order looked very flat. 

Saud Shakeel and Babar Azam got to their fifties cloud’t excel in their innings after that. Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals which didn’t allow them to put a huge total on the board.

Shamsi who was playing in this proved that his selection was spot on. He took 4 wickets including Pakistan skipper Babar Azam. In his 10 overs spell he went for a few runs but taking 4 wickets in a crucial game is always a bonus for a captain. He went for 60 runs in 10 overs.

Marco Jansen was aggressive and bowled with a lot of heart. He bowled 9 overs getting 3 wickets for 43 runs with a maiden. These two bowlers dented Pakistan badly. In between them, there was a 19 overs spell. They took 7 wickets for 103 runs. 

South Africa needs 271 runs to confirm their place in the final four of the ICC World Cup 2023. And Pakistan needs 10 wickets to survive in the tournament.
