Southampton Winger Samuel Edozie Set for Permanent Move to Strasbourg

Football & Cricket

Young English winger Samuel Edozie, 22, from Southampton is set to join French club Strasbourg on a permanent deal, as reported by Sacha Tavolieri. Previously, the England U21 international had attracted significant interest from Belgian side Club Brugge, but it now appears a move to the Belgian league is off the cards. Strasbourg, part of the BlueCo consortium (owners of Chelsea), swiftly moved to secure Edozie`s signature.

Negotiations between the clubs have reached the final stage, and the deal is expected to be officially completed in the coming days. Samuel Edozie joined the `Saints` in 2022 from Manchester City. Last season, he spent on loan at Belgian club Anderlecht, where he made 23 appearances in the Pro League and scored three goals.

For Southampton`s senior team, Edozie has played 51 matches and scored six goals. He also has ten caps for the England U20 national team.
