Stade Rennais, having already seen 24 players depart this summer, may soon add another to that tally. According to Le Parisien, Spartak Moscow is currently engaged in discussions with the Ligue 1 club regarding the potential acquisition of 23-year-old defender Christopher Wooh.
Wooh, who joined Rennes in 2022 from RC Lens in a €10 million transfer, is now in the final year of his contract. Reports indicate that he is actively evaluating Spartak`s proposal, and a decision is anticipated very soon.
Last season, Wooh featured in 21 matches across all competitions for Rennes. However, his playing time became more restricted following the mid-season arrival of manager Habib Beye. Initially, Beye started Wooh in his first six games. Yet, after a two-game suspension, Wooh largely remained out of the starting lineup, making only two brief substitute appearances thereafter.
This current season has seen the former Lens player make two appearances: first as a substitute in Rennes` opening day win against Olympique de Marseille, and then as a starter in the comprehensive 4-0 defeat to FC Lorient, where he was controversially sent off just 11 minutes into the match.
