Sri Lanka Squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has been announced. Today (September 26), the Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) revealed their 2023 ODI World Cup team. Despite having fitness difficulties, spin twins Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana have been included in the squad. Dushan Hemantha and Chamika Karunaratne have been designated as mobile reserves in the meanwhile.
It should be noted that throughout the workout, Hasaranga sustained another injury. SLC nevertheless added the leg spinner.
India, Pakistan, and Australia had previously revealed their 15-man World Cup 2023 roster. Notably, Australia was the first team to reveal its tentative World Cup 2023 roster.
Notably, there were three deadlines set by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the announcement of the final 15-player squad.
By August 29, teams could turn in their tentative roster. Notably, teams have till September 5 to formally submit their World Cup tentative squad to the ICC. There is still time to make adjustments through September 28. However, the ICC must approve any substitutions made after September 28.
“At our competitions, the initial team submission deadline is 30 days before the start of the support periods. According to ICC, the support periods begin one week before the competitions.
Before the support period, changes may be done without obtaining authorization, but after it begins, the Event Technical Committee must authorize replacements, according to ICC.
Pakistan, Australia, England, India, South Africa, and the Netherlands have so far made their team announcements. Notably, these are only provisional squads, and alterations may be made by the clubs up until September 28.
