Strasbourg Captain Emanuel Emegha to Join Chelsea in 2026

Football & Cricket

Chelsea Football Club and its BlueCo-owned partner club RC Strasbourg Alsace have officially confirmed that Dutch U21 international forward Emanuel Emegha (22) will make the move from the French club to Stamford Bridge starting from the 2026 season. The 22-year-old has already signed a pre-agreement with the Club World Cup winners. Emegha is expected to sign a seven-year contract, which would tie him to Chelsea FC until 2033.

Emegha`s impending transfer to the London club comes as no surprise, given the impressive form he has shown for Strasbourg since his arrival two years ago from Sturm Graz. During his tenure with Strasbourg, the 22-year-old has scored 26 goals and provided 5 assists in 64 appearances. He has also hit the ground running this current season, netting three goals in four games.

In a video message posted on Strasbourg`s social media, Emegha, who has been appointed team captain, expressed his gratitude to the Ligue 1 club and its supporters for everything they have done for him. He clarified his immediate priorities, stating:

“I just want to focus 100% on Strasbourg until the end of the season, and then I will leave. I don`t want rumours or anything that could distract me or my team. I think it`s the best decision to announce it now.”
