Strasbourg Rejects Nottingham Forest’s €28 Million Bid for Dilane Bakwa

RC Strasbourg Alsace has reportedly rejected a significant €28 million offer from Premier League club Nottingham Forest for their dynamic 22-year-old winger, Dilane Bakwa. The proposal, which was structured as an initial €24 million payment with an additional €4 million in performance-related bonuses, was deemed insufficient by Strasbourg, who maintain a higher valuation for the player, according to insights from L`Équipe.

Bakwa has proven to be an invaluable asset for RCSA since his transfer from formative club Girondins de Bordeaux two summers ago. His most productive season to date was the last one, where he impressively contributed six goals and nine assists. This stellar performance was pivotal in “Les Alsaciens`” successful campaign, which culminated in their qualification for this season`s UEFA Europa Conference League.

Currently, Bakwa`s contract with Strasbourg extends until 2027, placing the club in a strong bargaining position. While Strasbourg is not entirely against the idea of selling the France U21 international, they are resolute that any potential transfer will occur strictly on their own terms. The Alsace-based club has reportedly set an asking price in the range of €30 million to €35 million. Despite the rejection of their initial bid, L`Équipe suggests that Nottingham Forest is anticipated to table a revised offer in the near future, indicating the saga is far from over.
