Chelsea midfielder Mathis Amougou, aged 19, is scheduled to sign a five-year contract with Strasbourg this Friday, according to reports from L`Equipe. The France U19 international originally arrived at Chelsea from AS Saint-Etienne during the winter transfer window as part of a €15 million agreement. He stayed with the Premier League club until the end of the season and was initially expected to join BlueCo-affiliated Strasbourg Alsace on a summer loan.
Ultimately, the young midfielder will make a permanent switch to the Alsatian side, thus remaining within the network of BlueCo clubs. Notably, Chelsea have incorporated a buy-back clause into Amougou`s transfer terms. The former Saint-Etienne player is anticipated to play a significant role next season, especially considering Strasbourg has seen the departure of Chelsea loanee Andrey Santos and their former captain Habib Diarra, who moved to Sunderland in a club-record €36 million deal.
