RC Strasbourg Alsace has officially announced the acquisition of 22-year-old Argentine forward Joaquin Panichelli, who has committed to a five-year contract with the club.
Panichelli initially moved to Deportivo Alavés in 2023 as a free agent, having departed from his youth club, River Plate. His recent loan spell at Mirandés, a Spanish second-division team, proved to be a pivotal moment. During his time there last season, he made 44 appearances across various competitions, impressively netting 21 goals and providing eight assists.
This strong performance has enabled Alavés, his former club, to secure a substantial transfer fee for the young Argentine. The deal is reportedly valued at €16.5 million, with an additional €3.5 million in performance-related bonuses, bringing the total transfer sum to €20 million, which matches the player`s release clause.
Panichelli`s five-year commitment aligns him with Les Alsaciens, who are set to participate in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season. The club confirmed that Panichelli would integrate with his new teammates at their pre-season training camp in Austria, commencing this Monday.
