RC Strasbourg Alsace is reportedly on the verge of finalizing the acquisition of Ishé Samuel-Smith, a 19-year-old talent from Chelsea, as reported by L`Équipe.
Although neither club has officially confirmed the agreement, L`Équipe indicates that the transfer is already complete. The young England youth international is set to commit to a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 club. The versatile defender, who can operate as a left-back or centre-back, is moving for an initial fee of €7.5 million, with an additional €500,000 in potential bonuses. Chelsea had initially acquired Samuel-Smith from Everton in 2023 for €4.5 million.
Samuel-Smith marks the third player to transfer from Chelsea to Strasbourg this summer, following Mathis Amougou (permanent deal) and Mike Penders (loan). Further moves are anticipated, with Kendry Paez also expected to join Strasbourg on loan. Conversely, Dutch forward Emanuel Emegha might eventually make a switch to Chelsea, according to Sports Zone, though not in the current transfer window.
