Strasbourg is reportedly nearing a deal to sign 20-year-old defensive midfielder Maxi Oyedele from Legia Warsaw. The French club is prepared to activate his €6 million release clause.
BlueCo, the ownership group behind Strasbourg, is familiar with Oyedele. The midfielder impressed when Legia faced Chelsea, another BlueCo club, in the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-finals. He showed versatility by playing in both legs, covering attacking and defensive midfield roles.
Oyedele earned his first senior cap for Poland in October during a UEFA Nations League match against Portugal. Last season, he made 23 appearances in all competitions for Legia. An academy product of Manchester United, Oyedele made his senior professional debut in England while on loan at Forest Green, despite not playing a senior game for United.
