RC Strasbourg Alsace has reportedly rejected a significant €35 million bid from Nottingham Forest for their promising 22-year-old French youth international winger, Dilane Bakwa. This marks the third attempt by Nottingham Forest to secure the talent who emerged from the Girondins de Bordeaux Academy.
Despite reports suggesting that manager Liam Rosenior’s Strasbourg side had set a €35 million valuation on Bakwa, the Ligue 1 club, which is owned by BlueCo, ultimately turned down Nottingham Forest`s most recent proposal.
The latest offer from Nottingham Forest was understood to consist of a fixed transfer fee of €27.5 million, complemented by an additional €7.5 million in performance-related add-ons. Even with this latest rejection, discussions between the two clubs are reportedly still active and ongoing.
Bakwa’s departure from Strasbourg appears to be a strong possibility, with manager Rosenior seemingly making preparations for the team’s future without the young winger. While the France youth international has yet to make a competitive start for Strasbourg, he has featured from the bench in their initial two Ligue 1 matches of the season.
