Strasbourg has officially secured the services of Chelsea`s 19-year-old central defender, Mamadou Sarr, on a season-long loan deal, as confirmed by both clubs.
This marks a swift return to La Meinau for the promising France youth international, just weeks after his €14 million transfer to Chelsea.
Sarr had previously made a significant impact as a defender for the Alsatian club last season under Liam Rosenior. Rosenior, the former Hull City head coach, even praised Sarr as one of the top centre-backs in Ligue 1. During his prior spell, Sarr played in 28 matches across various competitions for Strasbourg.
Sarr becomes the third Chelsea player to join the BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 team, following goalkeeper Mike Penders and attacking midfielder Kendry Paez. Due to regulations, Strasbourg is limited to signing a maximum of three Chelsea players on loan. Furthermore, the Alsatians have also completed permanent transfers for Chelsea prospects Mathis Amougou and Ishé Samuels-Smith.
