Sunil Gavaskar asks the BCCI to grant past world champion captains MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev “Golden Tickets” for the ODI Worold Cup in 2023

Sunil Gavaskar asks the BCCI to grant past world champion captains MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev “Golden Tickets” for the ODI World Cup in 2023. The eagerly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup will get underway in 10 different locations throughout India on October 5. India will now own the rights for the fourth time after hosting the ICC World Championship in 1987, 1996, and 2011, respectively. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has launched a significant effort by awarding “Golden Tickets” to a number of well-known individuals in the nation before the main event.

The first owner of the unique pass was Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, who acquired the ticket earlier in September. After a few days, the great Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar received the same from BCCI secretary Jay Shah. Cricketer and World Cup champion Sunil Gavaskar hailed the BCCI for their initiative, calling it “terrific.”

The choice by BCCI secretary Jay Shah to recognize individuals who have rendered outstanding contributions in their various disciplines is a fantastic one. Gavaskar said in his column for Sportstar, “As of this writing, the one and only Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar have been awarded a golden ticket to see the World Cup matches.

He also chose several well-known individuals who may win the “Golden Ticket” in the country. According to the 74-year-old, the two World Cup champion captains MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev, the Olympic gold winner Neeraj Chopra, the head of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization), S. Somnath, and other notable individuals also deserve to receive the unique permission.

It is unknown how many additional people are on the list, but it is hoped that the ISRO director under whose watch India made its lunar landing will be one of them. Of course, the two World Cup champion captains, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Kapil Dev, are two other players who deserve to receive the golden ticket. Another person who comes to mind for the BCCI golden ticket is Neeraj Chopra, the gold medalist in both the Olympic and World Athletics Championships.

The US Open Tennis Tournament and Wimbledon both feature this fantastic initiative: Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar continued by praising BCCI and mentioning how similar an initiative it was to what was seen at Wimbledon and the US Open Tennis.
