Sunil Gavaskar chooses this team as his favorite to win the ODI Cricket World Cup in 2023, not India or Pakistan. The ODI Cricket World Cup 2023, which will begin on October 5, is anticipated by cricket enthusiasts around the world. In Ahmedabad, the World Cup’s first runners-up, New Zealand, will take on the reigning champions England in the first game. On October 8 in Chennai, Australia will play the host nation India in the first game of the season. Sunil Gavaskar, a former captain of India, has selected England as his betting favorite to win the World Cup.

According to Gavaskar, the Jos Buttler-led team features three “world-class all-rounders” who can alter the course of the game in addition to a strong bowling lineup.

“The defending champions, England, have two or three elite all-rounders who can alter the course of a game with both bat and ball because of the caliber of ability they possess at the top of the order, the batting order. They also have a highly talented and seasoned bowling lineup, which makes them the current favorites in my opinion, Gavaskar stated on Star Sports.

The hosts, on the other hand, are “ticking all the boxes” and are among the favorites to win the coveted ICC trophy, according to former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who supported Team India.

“I’m extremely interested to watch how India performs, and I firmly believe that they are among the favorites, especially in light of recent series, like as the Asia Cup, and the manner in which India performed against Australia at home. They appear to be meeting all the criteria, according to Pathan.

“They have players who are performing really well, but you have a guy like Mohammed Shami, who’s not in the part of playing 11 consistently, who’s a world-class bowler itself, so it shows the kind of team India has and at the same time the bench strength India has,” the commenter continued.
