Montpellier winger Tanguy Coulibaly, 24, is anticipated to leave the club this summer following its relegation to Ligue 2. However, a transfer to the United States appears to be off the cards. The former Stuttgart and Paris Saint-Germain academy product showcased glimpses of his talent during a strong second half of the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season, despite Montpellier’s eventual drop to the lower division.
According to reports, Coulibaly has turned down an approach from Major League Soccer club FC Dallas, who had expressed interest in acquiring him. The French winger has instead opted to keep his options open, patiently waiting for offers that more closely align with his sporting ambitions, specifically preferring to remain in a top European league.
Coulibaly scored 2 goals in 13 appearances after joining Montpellier in January. His primary goal remains to continue playing in a premier European league if such an opportunity arises.
