Midfielder Tanguy Ndombélé, aged 28, will not be participating in OGC Nice`s upcoming UEFA Europa League campaign, as he has been omitted from the official squad list.
The club confirmed in early July that the French international had undergone surgery to address a persistent sports hernia. This issue proved significant, keeping him off the pitch for nearly the entirety of the latter half of the previous season. Ndombélé himself revealed his struggles with the condition back in January, but his problems intensified, leading to his complete absence from competitive play. His last appearance in Ligue 1 dates back to the end of February.
At the close of July, head coach Franck Haise stated he was unable to provide a timeline for Ndombélé`s return to action. His notable absence from the Europa League roster strongly suggests that the midfielder`s comeback is not anticipated in the near future.
Furthermore, the squad will also be without two other key players:
- Youssouf Ndayishimiye
- Mohamed Abdelmonem
Both players are currently recovering from ACL injuries sustained late last season.
