Temba Bavuma Falls asleep during captains’ day meet; image becomes viral on Social media. Temba Bavuma, the captain of South Africa, appears to be completely unfazed about the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in India this month. On Wednesday (October 4), the Proteas captain was spotted napping while attending the captains’ meet in Ahmedabad. During the press briefing, Bavuma was observed taking a quick nap.

Many people cannot, however, hold the Proteas skipper responsible because he recently traveled from India to South Africa for personal reasons. Bavuma had to travel to Ahmedabad for the captains’ meet event as his squad was getting ready for their first game in New Delhi.

“It is something that is relevant to all the teams, and a lot of the teams have guys who play in India and have done well there. I wouldn’t say that this gives us an advantage; the best we can hope for are guys who have that experience and knowledge, which they can share with other teams or use to strengthen their own strategies.” I wouldn’t say that is a benefit that only our team has, Temba Bavuma stated at the occasion.

While some Bavuma fans on the internet made fun of South Africa, others defended him, saying that people should be understanding of the recent traveling the musician has been undertaking. During the team’s practice sessions, Bavuma was absent.
