After a period of considerable uncertainty, a transfer agreement now appears to be finalized. According to reports from L`Équipe and Foot Mercato, USMNT player Timothy Weah is poised to join Olympique de Marseille from Juventus.
Foot Mercato indicates that Marseille has secured a loan agreement with the Serie A club. Olympique de Marseille will pay a fee for the American midfielder`s loan, and the deal also incorporates an option to make the move permanent for €14 million. An additional €3 million in bonuses could be activated if the transfer becomes permanent.
The agreement between Marseille and Juventus was reached in recent hours, following weeks of intense negotiations. At one point, the transfer seemed unlikely due to Juventus` firm stance on their valuation, a situation that even prompted public criticism from Weah`s representative.
Nonetheless, the former Lille OSC player is now set to finalize his transfer to the Vélodrome. Weah is anticipated to arrive in Marseille this week.
