Reports indicate that Tottenham Hotspur, among several other clubs, is prepared to match AFC Bournemouth`s substantial €70 million valuation for 22-year-old defender Illia Zabarnyi. Despite interest from these top clubs, the Ukrainian international has reportedly expressed a strong desire to join Paris Saint-Germain, making the French champions his primary choice.
Zabarnyi is said to have already reached an agreement on personal terms with Les Parisiens, committing to a five-year contract. Bolstered by the player`s clear preference for a move to the French capital, PSG has been actively negotiating with Bournemouth in an attempt to reduce the asking price.
Sources suggest that the difference between PSG`s current offer and Bournemouth`s demands, including potential bonuses, is less than €5 million. However, a principal agreement has yet to be finalized. It is also reported that Luis Campos, PSG`s football advisor, has delegated the ongoing negotiations directly to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
Should Zabarnyi successfully make the move to Paris, it is anticipated to trigger further adjustments within the squad. Fellow defender Lucas Beraldo, 21, has reportedly submitted a transfer request, which has been conditionally accepted, contingent on PSG successfully securing a new central defender.
