Toulouse Football Club has officially reached an agreement with Argentina`s Independiente for the transfer of 20-year-old forward Santiago Hidalgo. This significant move aims to bolster Toulouse`s attacking options.
The acquisition of Hidalgo comes at a crucial time for Toulouse, following recent changes to their squad. The club has already seen Joshua King depart this summer, and Zakaria Aboukhlal is also on the verge of leaving. Aboukhlal, a key player for the team since his arrival in 2022, is reportedly close to completing a €10 million transfer to Italian Serie A side Torino. It is anticipated that a portion of these funds will be promptly reinvested to strengthen the team`s overall capabilities.
According to reports from L`Équipe, Toulouse has finalized all terms of the deal with Independiente for Hidalgo`s transfer. The agreement is said to be worth just under €3 million. The promising young Argentine forward is expected to commit his future to Le TéFéCé by signing a four-year contract.
In securing Santiago Hidalgo`s signature, Toulouse has successfully fended off competition from several notable clubs, including Dynamo Moscow, Torino, and Hellas Verona. The player is anticipated to arrive in Toulouse within the coming days to undergo his mandatory medical examination, marking the final step before his official unveiling.
