Turkish club Trabzonspor is reportedly pushing for a player exchange with OGC Nice, aiming to acquire forward Jérémie Boga (28) by including midfielder Batista Mendy (25) in the proposed deal. This information comes from L’Équipe.
Nice is keen to offload Boga this summer, as his performance declined significantly last season after a promising debut year. Plagued by injuries and a lack of effectiveness, he played a minor role as the team secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. With his high salary, Boga is among the players, like the already departed Gaëtan Laborde, whom Nice seeks to move on.
While Trabzonspor is interested, they cannot meet Nice’s financial demands. Consequently, they are proposing to include French player Mendy in the transfer. However, negotiations between the two clubs have not made significant headway so far. Mendy is also being pursued by Spanish clubs Sevilla and Real Betis. Furthermore, Boga himself has not yet approved a transfer to Trabzon.
