According to reports from Italy, Victor Osimhen did not attend the first day of Napoli`s pre-season training, reportedly submitting a medical certificate. This absence coincides with his anticipated permanent move to Galatasaray.
Although Galatasaray has agreed to pay the €75 million release clause in Osimhen`s contract, the transfer hasn`t been completed because Napoli and Galatasaray are still discussing the payment structure.
Recent information indicates Napoli wants €55 million upfront and the remaining €20 million in installments. Galatasaray`s latest proposal is reportedly €40 million upfront with €35 million in installments.
Since the transfer is not yet official, Osimhen remains technically a Napoli player. However, the 26-year-old forward was absent from the first training session under new coach Antonio Conte on Monday.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Osimhen provided a medical note, or sick note, to explain his absence from training yesterday. The clubs were expected to continue their negotiations on Monday to finalize the transfer agreement.
