Victor Osimhen has arrived in Istanbul to a thunderous welcome from thousands of Galatasaray supporters, already conducting his initial interview ahead of finalizing his permanent transfer from Napoli.
The Nigerian international journeyed to Turkey on Wednesday to complete the remaining steps for his move to Galatasaray. Osimhen, who spent the 2024-25 season on loan with Galatasaray, is now making his return official in a significant €75 million transfer agreement. Napoli will receive €40 million upfront, with the remaining €35 million to be paid by the end of 2026.

The 26-year-old striker is scheduled to undergo his medical examination and officially sign his contract on Thursday.
Osimhen`s First Words Upon Arriving for Galatasaray Transfer
On Wednesday evening, thousands of passionate fans gathered at the Istanbul airport to greet Osimhen. Additionally, thousands more watched a live stream on Galatasaray`s YouTube channel, which meticulously tracked the player`s flight.
Osimhen joined the crowd in a powerful chant before offering a brief interview to the assembled press at the terminal. He expressed his overwhelming emotions:
“For me, I don`t know the words to use to explain. It feels so great to be back. Look at the crowd, look at the people that are tracking the flight. I`m home, this is where I want to be. I`m happy to be here, to come back to where I feel at home for myself, my family and my friends.”
He continued by thanking those instrumental in his return:
“I want to take the opportunity to thank the President of Gala, the vice-President, George Gardi, Okan Buruk, everyone who made sure I came back to my home. I want to say a very big thank you, and also to the fans that have pushed, that wanted me at the club, as much as I want them also. I’m happy to be here. The story continues and I’m happy to continue with Galatasaray.”
