Following a remarkably successful loan spell in Istanbul during the 2024-25 season, Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has now completed his permanent transfer from Napoli to Galatasaray.
Galatasaray had been determined to sign Osimhen permanently after his impressive performance last season, where he contributed an outstanding 37 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
Despite Galatasaray agreeing to pay the full €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract in early July, negotiations extended for several weeks. The prolonged discussions stemmed from disagreements over the structure and installments of the payment, with Napoli demanding firm financial guarantees.
The deal is now understood to be fully agreed upon. Galatasaray will pay the total €75 million transfer fee by the end of 2026.
Detailed Breakdown of Osimhen`s Transfer Agreement
Of the €75 million transfer fee, Napoli will receive an initial €40 million upfront, with the remaining €35 million to be paid by the close of 2026.
The Italian club will also be entitled to up to €5 million in performance-related bonuses and will retain a 10% sell-on clause, ensuring they receive a portion of any future transfer fee should Osimhen be sold again.
Additionally, the agreement includes an `anti-Serie A clause,` which prevents Osimhen from joining any of Napoli`s direct rivals in the Italian top flight for the next 24 months.
