Reports indicate significant progress in negotiations between Juventus and Olympique Marseille for the transfer of Timothy Weah, following initial misunderstandings regarding the €13 million offer.
The French club was reportedly frustrated by a perceived shift in Juventus`s stance. Previously, Juventus had accepted an identical €13 million offer from Nottingham Forest, but Weah had rejected that move, disliking the destination. This led to confusion for Marseille, as Juventus appeared to reject an identical proposal while now seeking a higher fee than what was agreed with Nottingham Forest. Consequently, negotiations had reached an impasse, with the Ligue 1 club reluctant to increase their offer under these conditions.

However, recent reports from France suggest that fresh negotiations have brought the two clubs significantly closer to an agreement. While a deal has not yet been finalized, substantial progress appears to have been made in resolving the previous deadlock.
Timothy Weah himself was reportedly frustrated by the situation, keen to have more say in his next career move. He had been advocating for a return to France, having previously played for Paris Saint-Germain and Lille prior to his €11 million (plus bonuses) transfer to Juventus in 2023.
