Pervis Estupiñán received a straight red card during AC Milan`s match against Napoli after he thwarted a clear goal-scoring opportunity. This incident occurred in the 57th minute of the Serie A game, leaving Milan with ten men and granting the visitors a penalty.
The Critical Moment: Estupiñán`s Foul

Estupiñán, the former Brighton defender, pushed Giovanni Di Lorenzo inside the penalty area. Di Lorenzo was poised to score into an empty net following a save by Mike Maignan. Referee Daniele Chiffi immediately awarded a spot-kick to the Partenopei, but a pitchside VAR review was required to confirm the red card for the Milan defender.
The referee determined that Estupiñán made no attempt to play the ball, intending only to prevent the goal. Consequently, a straight red card was the only possible outcome. Prior to this, Milan had been leading 2-0, but Kevin De Bruyne converted the penalty, bringing Napoli back into the game.
