Wolverhampton Wanderers and FC Metz have reportedly reached an agreement for the loan transfer of Boubacar Traoré, the 23-year-old Malian international midfielder. This prospective move would see him return to the newly promoted French side, where he previously featured in 33 matches. Traoré initially joined Wolves on loan in 2022, a deal that was subsequently made permanent in 2023 following an €11 million transfer fee agreed upon by both Wolverhampton and Metz.
Despite his current contract with Wolves extending until 2028, Traoré`s past Premier League season was significantly hampered by a severe meniscus injury. This unfortunately limited his appearances for the Molineux club to just three competitive games last season. It is understood that Wolverhampton Wanderers will cover a portion of Traoré’s wages during this loan spell.
While an agreement in principle has been established between Metz and Wolverhampton concerning Traoré`s temporary move, a few minor administrative details still require finalization before the Premier League club formally approves the midfielder`s return to France.
