Due to anticipated strong demand, prices for flights to Ahmedabad from major Indian cities have increased significantly during the period of October 14–16. According to the ToI data, fares for flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Ahmedabad have increased by 203% and 339%, respectively.

Given the high levels of attendance on game days, hotels in Ahmedabad have already experienced startling price increases. Sixty percent of the rooms and suites at the top five-star hotels have already been reserved for the match days. Notably, the games are slated to take place in October, which is about three months away.

Cricket fans are anticipated to fill the Narendra Modi Stadium, which can accommodate over 132,000 spectators, in full to watch the dramatic match between the two bitter rivals. Over 90,000 spectators watched the T20 World Cup encounter at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where Pakistan and India previously squared off in an ICC event.

Flight bookings and online searches have increased as a result of the India vs. Pakistan match announcement. The “all-time high” demand for travel has resulted in airfares that are six times higher than normal, according to Nishant Pitti, CEO and co-founder of EaseMyTrip. There has been an increase in searches for and reservations on travel websites because many people anxious to attend the game have already started purchasing their tickets well in advance.

“Flights are six times more expensive than usual, even for those who reserve three months in advance. In August and September, an economy class ticket from Delhi to Ahmedabad would cost about 3000 Indian rupees. However, the same ticket will cost Rs 20,000 the day before the game,”according to Pitti.

“Our website had record-high demand for both searches and airline tickets. The majority of those who are eager to attend the game have already begun purchasing tickets in advance.” he continued.
