Yuvraj Singh stated “Indian Team Lacks the Potential to Win the ICC World Cup in 2023”

Yuvraj Singh stated “Indian Team Lacks the Potential to Win the ICC World Cup in 2023”. Yuvraj Singh, a former all-rounder for India, made a significant claim about his country’s chances of winning the ODI World Cup in 2023, which will be played at home. The 41-year-old expressed his worries about the middle order and declared himself “not sure” about India’s ability to win the World Cup.

In a chat with the YouTube channel “Cricket Basu,” Yuvraj brought up the fundamental problem with India’s middle-order batting and questioned their potential to win. In addition to lamenting India’s recent inability to win the prized trophy, he pointed to injuries in the middle order as a big source of worry.

Yuvraj was very honest when he admitted that the Indian team’s pairings have been struggling. Although Rohit Sharma is a wise captain, according to Yuvraj, he must select the right lineup for the World Cup. He said that India should play a few games to warm up before the competition and should select 15 players from a pool of at least 20 players. He added that when in experimental mode, India shouldn’t participate in high-stress contests like the knockout rounds.

Yuvraj Singh stated “Indian Team Lacks the Potential to Win the ICC World Cup in 2023

“Our captain, Rohit Sharma, is a wise leader. They need to put together the best possible team. We must engage in a few games to get warmed up. We should have a pool of at least 20 individuals from whom to select a squad of 15”  Yuvraj stated.

According to Yuvraj Singh, India’s top order is good, but there is a middle order issue that needs to be resolved. The fourth and fifth slots are extremely controversial.

“The middle order needs to be sorted, but the top order is OK. The slots 4 and 5 are crucial. Rishab Pant should bat at number 4 even for the national team if he bats fourth for the IPL side. A flashy run scorer cannot be the number four batsman. He needs to be able to handle pressure.” Yuvraj remarked.

He added that India could not afford the experiment while competing in high-stakes contests like knockout games.

Yuvraj emphasised the significance of assembling the ideal side for the 2019 World Cup, a problem that has consistently dogged India in ICC competition. He congratulated Rohit Sharma, praising him for being a responsible captain, and he emphasised the importance of selecting the best lineup.
