Zaka Ashraf admits that Babar wanted Shadab to be on the ICC World Cup squad 2023

Zaka Ashraf admits that Babar wanted Shadab to be on the ICC World Cup squad 2023. On Friday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released the men’s squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Since then, there have been numerous inquiries about the team that the PCB selected to compete in the major tournament.

The cricket community did not appreciate some of the changes made to the squad, but the board members had reasons for each decision.

Following the Green Shirts’ humbling departure from the Asia Cup 2023 when they finished last in the Super Four points table, former captains Misbah ul Haq and Mohammad Hafeez were involved in the PCB Technical Committee and everyone had their input in the squad planning.

Hafeez did, however, resign from his position on the Technical Committee on Thursday night, though it is unknown why.

As a result of Pakistan’s dismal showing in the Asian event, Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the PCB Management Committee, also had something to say about the team.

Reviewing the Asia Cup performance was crucial, according to Ashraf. I’ve been getting advice from Misbah-ul-Haq and Muhammad Hafeez on important issues.

“Due to the team’s performance at the Asia Cup, both past captains wanted significant changes made to the roster, but our captain, Babar Azam, and the top selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq, didn’t want to do so.

In the greater interest of the World Cup and the Pakistan cricket team, we followed Babar Azam’s and Inzamam-ul-Haq’s advice.

Shadab Khan’s selection by Babar to serve as vice-captain of the team for the World Cup was also confirmed by Ashraf.

Shadab staying as vice captain throughout the World Cup was Babar’s wish, he claimed. But he will be dropped if he doesn’t perform.
