RC Strasbourg Alsace`s promising defender, Andrew Omobamidele, has once more sustained an ankle injury, a setback confirmed by his manager, Liam Rosenior.
The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who recently made his loan move from Nottingham Forest permanent, experienced the injury during Sunday`s narrow 1-0 triumph over FC Nantes. This incident casts a shadow over a period that has already seen Omobamidele battle persistent fitness issues since his arrival in Alsace.
Notably, this isn`t his first struggle with an ankle problem at Strasbourg; he was previously sidelined for two months last season due to a similar affliction. The latest injury occurred just before halftime in the Nantes fixture, forcing him to leave the pitch prematurely. He appeared visibly emotional as he made his exit.
Following the match, manager Rosenior addressed the media, confirming that his defender had indeed suffered an ankle injury, though he refrained from disclosing extensive details about its severity.
Another Injury Concern: Felix Lemarechal
Adding to Strasbourg`s injury worries from the same match against Les Canaris, midfielder Felix Lemarechal also picked up a knock. However, Rosenior offered a more optimistic outlook regarding Lemarechal`s condition, expressing confidence that the Frenchman’s injury is not considered serious.
