AC Milan is reportedly nearing an agreement to secure the services of Zachary Athekame from Swiss club Young Boys. The Rossoneri have tabled a fresh bid worth €8 million plus potential add-ons, a development that corroborates earlier reports from journalist Alfredo Pedullà.
The Italian giants are making a concerted effort to finalize their squad enhancements for the upcoming season, particularly after concluding their pre-season tour. The club is keen to strengthen their ranks for their coach.
Athekame Poised for Milan Transfer

Multiple sources, including acclaimed transfer expert Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sport Italia, have corroborated AC Milan`s renewed proposal to Young Boys. While the Swiss club had previously set an asking price of €10 million and rejected an initial €7 million offer from Milan, the latest improved bid is believed to be sufficient to seal the transfer.
A significant factor in these negotiations is Athekame`s clear declaration to his current club that his sole desire is to join AC Milan. This preference is expected to facilitate the agreement.
The 20-year-old talent primarily operates as a right-back but also possesses the versatility to play in a more advanced midfield role. He had previously attracted interest from other Serie A clubs, including Bologna and Udinese.
During the last season, Athekame made a notable contribution for Young Boys, featuring in 43 competitive matches, where he scored one goal and provided three assists.
