AUS Vs NED Warm-up Match 05, Thiruvananthapuram, 1st Power Play Score Update - AUS Inning

ICC CWC 2023’s Warm-up matches are on the card with NED taking on AUS in the 5th D/N match. Australian skipper, Pat Commins, won the toss in the 23 overs shortened game (each side) and chose to test his batting lineup against meek opponents, Netherland. The 5th ICC Cricket World Cup Match Warm-up match got the playing conditions of of 1-5, 6-18 nad 19 – 23.  

Surprisingly, Steven Smith and Josh Inglis opened the inning for Australia in the current rain affected game. Aryan Dutt, opened the bowling for Netherland. Dutch, Van Beek, justly removed the youngster in the 2nd over of the match played between these two teams. Alex Caray joined the crease with experienced Smith and started hitting the ball straightaway like a well-settled batter. Australian batter enjoyed the 1st powerplay as they managed to score 29 for the loss of 1 wicket. Alex caray scored 22 off 17 including one 6 and three 4s while Smith was conservative with 8 off 12 including only a four.

Kane Williamson joined the other opener for this crucial chase against Haris and Hassan. Both players took charge and provide solid platform for chasing 340+ target. They managed to score 65 for the loss of 1 wicket in the mandatory Powerplay smashing 11 boundaries together. The 1st phase belonged to Team New Zealand that stunned Pakistan Cricket Team in the first warm-up match. 

At the end of the powerplay, Williamson scored 25 off 29 balls, including four 4s, whereas Ravindra also managed  32 off 31 and smashed only seven 4s. On the other hand, Hassan Ali who had been under the radar, was the pick of the bowlers, bowled 4 overs while conceding 18 and picking up the crucial wicket of dangerous Conway too. Whereas, the other Quick arm fast bowler, Haris was smashed all along the park in his 1st spell. He also bowled 4 overs in the powerplay, conceding 36 with the economy of 9 without getting any wicket. Babar also introduced right-arm spinner, Agha, in the Powerplay who bowled 2 overs giving away 10 runs.
