Australia Beat Sri Lanka by 5 Wickets with 88 Remaining in the ICC World Cup 2023

Australia has opened their account in the ICC World Cup 2023 after beating Sri Lanka by 5 wickets with 88 balls to spare. This is Australia’s first victory in the ICC mega event. The performance was far better today compared to the other two matches. The bowlers were not up to the mark in the first half of the inning but then they came back strongly and bowled Sri Lanka all out from 157 for 1 to 209. Both Openers played well by scoring 50s and with a huge first wicket stand of 125 runs.

Chasing 210, Australia didn’t start well. They lost two wickets for 24 in the same over from Madushanka. But Mitchell Marsh’s maiden fifty in the ICC World Cup 2023 steadied the inning. Mitch ran out after scoring 51 runs for 81 on the board. Inglis played a good hand with intent and aggression. Inglis and Maxwell added some quick runs to get their team over the line. But Inglis departed after scoring 58 runs from 59 balls. A good hand from the wicketkeeper batter.
