Australia Stunned Afghanistan With Maxwell's First-Ever Double Ton In The World Cup History

What a game of cricket! We couldn’t leave the seats for a minute. Maxwell once again rescues his team from a hopeless position to get over the line. He is the first batter who scored a double in the ICC World Cup history. He was in serious pain during this remarkable inning but didn’t give away. He finished the match for his team in style. He remained not out scoring a double hundred with the help of 21 fours and 10 sixes against one of the best spin bowling attacks in the World.

At one stage Australia were 91 for 7 with Maxwell and the skipper on the crease. Australia was down and out and none could think about their winning. But it was all one-man show. His 128-ball double ton made it possible for Australia to get over the line. Cummins played a brilliant innings with a strike rate of 17.53. 

Afghanistan bowled well in the first 20 overs of the match. They managed to get 7 wickets in the first half of the inning but couldn’t get a single wicket in the last part of the match. Australia has qualified for the Semi-Finals of the ICC World Cup 2023 while Afghanistan has to beat South Africa by a huge margin to fancy their chances for the final four. 

It was a sensational game of cricket which was dominated by Afghanistan for the first 70 overs but Australia made a stunning comeback and got over the line in the 47th over. A disappointing day for the men in blue but they can only blam themselves for this after giving Maxwell too many chances.
