BAN vs ENG, ICC Men’s CWC23, Dharamsala | Match 07 | 2nd Innings Highlight | BAN Innings

It’s the 6th day of the ICC Men’s Cricket Worldcup 2023, where ENG have put up a massive total for BAN to chase down. BAN skipper after electing to field first tries to restrict ENG under 300 but Malan, Bairstow and Root help England post 364 on board for BAN.

Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan open the batting for BAN in the 2nd innings of the 7th match of the ICC Men’s CWC23. While Chris Woakes and Reece Topley open the bowling for ENG in order ot defend 364. Topley breaths fire in the opening overs. He proves his inclusion in the team wise as he provides triple strikes in the power 1st power play. 

First Tanzid following Shanto and Shakib perishes BAN hopes for tonight. The stand between Litton and Miraz doesn’t long last as Chris Woakes removes the allrounder damaging Bangladesh’s hopes to a greater extent. At the end of the 1st power play Bangla Tigers manage 57 for the loss of 4 wickets hitting away seven 4s and one 6.

Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das show some resistance for the 5th wicket and provide  72-runs stand. Woakes strikes again and sends back well-settled Litton for 76 off 66 striking at 115 with seven 4s and two 6s. Bangladesh are 121 for five after 21.

Mushfiqur Rahim again builds the innings with Towhid Hridoy and adds 43 runs to the scorecard. Bangladesh’s key man is trapped by Topley after his 51 off 64 including 4 boundaries. Topley gets his 4th of the evening and Bangladesh seems losing the game with a big margin here.

Towhid Hridoy and Mahedi’s stand of 25 runs is just been broken by Livingston who removes Hridoy after scoring 39 off61 balls. BAN are 7 down for 189 in 39.1 requiring  176 off 65. Wickets start tumbling for BAN as Rashid’s spin factor comes into play. Mahedi goes after his 14 off 32.

Mark Wood and then Sam Curren removes the 2nd last and last man of Bangladesh and end their innings to 227. ENG win by 134 with Reece Topley picking the 4 for 43 in his 10. Whereas, Chris Woakes bags 2 for his 49 and the rest of the four wickets are equally shared by 4 bowlers : Curren, Wood, Rashid and Livingston.

England spinners  bowl 13 out of 50 giving away only 55 at the rate of 4.23. They share 2 wickets only with the average of 27.5. On the other hand, the pace attack prove lethal for BAN as they lose 8 wickets to the pacers in 35.2 while conceding 168 at 4.76 averaging 21. 

BAN batters manage seventeen 4s and three 6s only. Only, Litton and Mushfiq show some intent but their effort go in vain as BAn lose by a big margin causing them to lose NRR too.
