Bangladesh Beat Afghanistan Convencingly By 6 Wickets In The 3rd Match Of The ICC World Cup 2023

Bangladesh won the match against Afghanistan by—wickets with — balls remaining. A convincing victory for the Bengal Tigers in their opening game of the ICC World Cup 2023. Bangladesh opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Afghanistan started brilliantly with Grbaz and Ibrahim. The top-order provided the batters a solid platform to put a good total on the board, but Afghanistan lost 8 wickets for 44 runs and only managed to score 156 runs in 37.2 overs.

Bangladesh outclassed the Afghan team in all departments of the game. Everything they touched turned to gold for them. Their blowing was outclass, and the fielding was up to the mark. And batting was exceptional too. Though they had two quick wickets Miraz and Shanto batted well. 

Mehadi Hasan Miraz scored 57 runs facing 73 balls with the help of 4 fours. Miraz’s inning was crucial for his side. After two wickets, Miraz and Shanto played Afghanistan’s lethal spin-bowling attack brilliantly. They did not take any risk initially. They went deep in chasing down this target. Once they passed 100 runs they started to play shorts and in the process, they lost Mehadi Hasan Miraz for 57 (73). The partnership was just shy 3 runs of 100. 

Bangladesh dominated Afghanistan right from the word go. They demolished Afghanistan in batting, bowling, and fielding. A convincing win for the Bengal Tigers. They got the start that they were looking for. Bangladesh will take on England on Tuesday 17th. A tough opposition to have.
