Baptiste Santamaria Set to Depart Rennes for Valencia

Football & Cricket

Reports from Le Parisien indicate that Stade Rennais midfielder Baptiste Santamaria, aged 30, is on the verge of completing a transfer to Spanish side Valencia.

Santamaria, who found himself out of favor at Rennes, spent the latter half of the previous season on loan with OGC Nice. While his time there was generally considered a success, Nice ultimately chose not to make his move permanent at the close of the campaign.

Consequently, Santamaria returned to his parent club, Rennes. However, with the midfielder not featuring in coach Habib Beye`s plans, the Breton club has actively sought to offload him. It now appears he has found a new destination, as a deal with Valencia is reportedly close to being finalized. Although a few minor details still need to be resolved, there is significant optimism that an agreement will be reached imminently.

The French midfielder is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Spanish team. According to Le Parisien, Santamaria had previously declined an offer from Napoli earlier in the current transfer window, but this time, he seems poised to make the move.
