Barcelona’s promising player, Fermín López, has successfully undergone surgery on his right foot on Tuesday. This procedure comes as the attacking midfielder faces a significant period on the sidelines due to injury.
The Spanish talent sustained a setback during Barcelona’s recent 3-1 La Liga victory against Real Betis this past weekend. After starting the match, the 23-year-old was substituted for Alejandro Balde midway through the first half.
The club confirmed on Monday that Fermín had suffered a fracture to the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot. Following this diagnosis, he has now taken the initial step towards recovery with the surgery.
According to a report from Carrusel Deportivo, “Fermín López has already undergone surgery for his injury to the fifth metatarsal of his right foot. The FC Barcelona player faces an estimated three-month absence.”
As a consequence of this injury, Fermín is now unavailable for the forthcoming World Cup.
