Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, has offered an update on the club’s current transfer market endeavors. This comes as confirmation that the Catalan giants are actively pursuing reinforcements for Hansi Flick’s squad in preparation for the 2026/27 season.
Deco recently traveled to London to initiate a new round of discussions concerning both potential acquisitions and sales. Among the prominent Premier League players linked with Barcelona in recent weeks is Chelsea forward João Pedro, who has been rumored as a possible replacement for the departing Robert Lewandowski.
Upon his return to Spain, Deco was questioned by the media about the speculation surrounding João Pedro. The Barcelona transfer chief explained that while the club is indeed focused on bringing in new players in the coming weeks, discussions regarding specific individuals like Pedro cannot be made public at this stage.
“We are working on it and we will bring in some players,” Deco stated. “Right now, we cannot say anything about João Pedro; we are interested in several players. We haven’t spoken with the clubs yet.”
