BAS de LEEDE - A Brainy Allrounder | 67 off 68 with 4 for 62

The 2nd Match of the ICC ODI CWC23 is being played at Hyderabad where Pakistan have set 287 for team NED with the require RR of 5.74. NED started quite well in the run-chase against Pakistan seam bowling.

NED were 50/2 in the 12th overs when de Leede came to the crease. He started building pressure on Pakistani bowlers with his partner Vikramajit Singh. Both batters batted brilliantly and provided 70-run stand in no time. 

BAS de Leede, who is known for his Heroics of Qualifier stage of CWC 2023 where he scored 123 off 92 and helped NED qualify for the ICC Men’s Cricket Worldcup 2023. In that particular match against Scotland in Bulawayo where his team needed to chase 278 down in 44th over. 

No one on earth believed NED would do it and make it to the ICC Men’s Cricket Worldcup 2023. Leede, took 5 wickets for 52 in the first innings and then played with the strike rate of 133.7 to pull back the miracle. 

Bas de Leede who was born on Nov 15, 1999 played his first match against Nepal on 1st Aug 2018. During his 5-years ODI career, he has played a total of 30 ODIs scoring 765 runs with average of 27.32. His highest ODI score is 123 which came against Scotland in the WC Qualifier 2023.

As far as his bowling figures are concerned, he’s taken 24 wickets with 32.02 average and 5.94 economy rate. His best bowling figures are 52/5 which also came against Scotland.

He’s proved himself as a genuine allrounder in couple of occasion. Today when his team needed someone to stand and deliver in the ICC CWC23 match against Pakistan, he stepped up and rose to the occasion. First with the ball he took 4 crucial wickets including Rizwan, Iftikhar, shadab and Hassan Ali. Then with the bat when many batters were coming and departing, he stood firm in this run-chase against Pakistan.

Leede was the one man army who displayed an all-round performance with the ball and then with the bat. But Nawaz sends him back to the pavilion. Nawaz gets enough turn to dismiss the in-form de Leede who scored 67 off 68 smashing six 4s and two 6s.
