Bollywood Stars and Cricket Legends Launch The World Cup Campaign

Bollywood stars and cricket legends launch the World Cup campaign. Just 77 days remain until the opening game of the 2023 World Cup, and the “It Takes One Day” campaign was unveiled in Mumbai on Thursday. The campaign’s goal is to connect cricket fans around the world to the “Navarasa,” which represents the nine emotions that spectators most frequently experience during a cricket match.

In conjunction with the launch of the campaign, a movie starring Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan and renowned cricketers JP Duminy, Shubman Gill, Dinesh Karthik, current World Cup victor Eoin Morgan, Muttiah Muralitharan, Jonty Rhodes, and Jemimah Rodrigues was released, which highlights many memorable moments in the history of the Men’s Cricket World Cup.

The campaign explores how one day is all it takes to experience this emotional rollercoaster by connecting the nine ‘Navarasa’ emotions: anguish, bravery, glory, joy, passion, power, pride, respect, and wonder. The campaign shows the journey of raw emotions experienced by both players and fans collectively over One Day.

Geoff Allardice, the CEO of the International Cricket Council, was delighted to launch the campaign and is looking forward to the World Cup’s start on October 5 in Ahmedabad.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will be held in India again in 2023, and this ad is a true celebration of One Day International cricket. Fans and players alike experience the emotions, or Navarasa, on One Day, and this ad brings that shared experience to life, according to Allardice.

“Cricket and movies are intrinsic to the Indian psyche, and we’ve combined them to produce appeal on a global scale. The participation of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and a world-class cricket team would only strengthen our ties to this nation while grabbing the public’s attention on a global scale.

With its capacity to present exhilarating moments, heated conflicts, and unforeseen outcomes that will genuinely fascinate fans worldwide, the ODI format retains an unequalled significance. We are pleased to see the Men’s Cricket World Cup campaign debut as we set out on this adventure and to help fuel genuine excitement for the competition around the globe,” he said.

The campaign, in our opinion, achieves our goal of producing a world-class event that will witness the emergence of a new generation of stars and give fans unique experiences. The 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India will honour cricketing prowess, cultural diversity, and the spirit of the game as a unifying force.
