Gianluigi Donnarumma (26) is on the verge of departing Paris Saint-Germain. The Italian goalkeeper`s contract with the European champions expires at the end of the upcoming season, and negotiations for an extension have yielded no progress. Unwilling to lose another valuable player for free, as they did with Kylian Mbappé, PSG intends to sell Donnarumma.
His successor has already been identified and is close to completing a move to the Parc des Princes. Lucas Chevalier (23), a long-standing target for PSG, will be his replacement in goal. According to RMC Sport, PSG has now informed Donnarumma about the Frenchman`s imminent arrival at the club. This was done to ensure openness and transparency regarding the situation.
As previously reported by RMC Sport, Luis Enrique has decided to make Chevalier his number one goalkeeper for the upcoming season. The message to Donnarumma is therefore crystal clear. Forced to seek a new club, the Italian international is notably attracting interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
