Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has reportedly decided that Lucas Chevalier (23) will be the club`s primary goalkeeper for the upcoming season, taking over the number one spot.
Chevalier`s anticipated transfer to PSG from Lille OSC is reportedly dependent on Lille first securing a suitable replacement. This development places Gianluigi Donnarumma (26) in a challenging situation. The core of the issue stems from a lack of progress in his contract negotiations; the Italian goalkeeper`s current deal is set to expire next summer, and no breakthrough on an extension has been achieved. In a bid to avoid losing another high-profile player on a free transfer, PSG is now understood to be looking to sell Donnarumma.
However, Donnarumma himself is reportedly not inclined to leave the Parisian club. He is said to be content at PSG and, consequently, sees no compelling reason to rush his departure, especially given that no other club has reportedly offered him a more lucrative contract than his current one.
Amidst this unfolding scenario, Manchester United has reportedly initiated contact with Paris Saint-Germain to assess the feasibility of a potential transfer deal for the Italian international.
